Our Legal Team

Susan Baker Martin is a native of Hazard, Kentucky . Her family is among the original settlers of Perry, Laurel, Pike, and Whitley Counties in Eastern Kentucky.

Ms. Martin received an Associate of Arts Degree, with honors, from Sullins College, Bristol, Virginia . She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in the Honors Program of Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia . Ms. Martin attended the joint Masters of Business Administration program of Clemson and Furman Universities for post graduate study in Finance, Accounting and Management. She received a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Louisville School of Law where she received the American Jurisprudence Awards in Estates, Trusts and Estates in Land.

Ms. Martin served as counsel to the Kentucky Commissioner of Insurance in the administration of Governor John Y. Brown, Jr. She served as City Attorney for Richmond, Kentucky, and as Adjunct Professor at Eastern Kentucky University .

For the past twenty years, she has served as counsel for Baker Properties. In 2008, she assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer for the eastern and central Kentucky and South Carolina real estate investment company.

Ms. Martin served as Trustee for the First Baptist Church, Richmond , and as Trustee for the Eastern Kentucky University Library.

Ms. Martin is a member of the Kentucky , American and Madison County Bar Associations, the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
